Goal of this training course

After completion of this training course you will be able to set up PHPUnit and getting started with writing unit tests for your existing applications.

Audience

PHPUnit is not difficult to learn, but it helps if you have a good knowledge of PHP functions and inner workings. We suggest that a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with PHP is required.

  • What is “unit testing” and PHPUnit
  • Example of a unit test
  • Configuration of PHPUnit
  • What are Assertions and how to use them
  • What are Annotations and how to use them
  • What are DataProviders and how to use them
  • Writing tests for existing (legacy) code

Class format & requirements

This training course will be given on-site. Participants should have a computer pre-installed with PHP 8.x, MySQL 8.x (or similar) and optionally Apache 2.4 (or similar). Code samples and exercises will be provided during the training course.
